Quick start

How to use Baseboard Buddy

Five steps from the box to a clean wall. The first one takes a minute and you do it once.

Wrapping a fresh pad onto the cleaning head
  1. Baseboard Buddy with its box, handle sections and three pads

    Screw the handle together

The aluminum handle comes in sections. Thread them together and twist each joint tight. Full length is up to 4 feet. Leave a section out for sills and mantels.

A loose joint is the usual reason the head wanders. Twist again after a room or two.

  2. Wrapping a fresh pad onto the cleaning head

Wrap a pad on the head

Lay a pad over the face of the blue head and fold it around the edges. Press along the hook and loop strips until it grips.

  3. Wiping the corner of a door casing

    Set the angle

Turn the head on its swivel so the pad sits flat on the trim while you hold the handle like a broom. For a baseboard, the pad should fold over the top edge.

  4. Cleaning a white baseboard standing up, handle extended to the floor

    Walk and glide

Start in a corner and walk the wall. Keep the pressure light and let the fibers do the work. Go dry first. For scuffs, dampen a second pad lightly and repeat.

Pressing hard pushes the head off the lip of the board. Two light passes beat one heavy one.

  5. Used pad holding dust and lint after a pass

    Rinse the pad

Peel the pad off and rinse it under warm water until it runs clear. Squeeze it, do not twist it, and hang it to dry. Take the handle apart if the closet is short.

Questions

Using Baseboard Buddy

How do you keep the Baseboard Buddy handle from coming loose?

Twist each joint of the handle tight before you start, and again after every room or 2. Buyers who clean a whole house in one go wrap the threads with plumber’s tape.

Should you use Baseboard Buddy dry or wet first?

Dry first. 1 dry pass lifts loose dust and hair. A damp pass after it takes scuffs and film without smearing the dust into mud.

How do you put a pad on Baseboard Buddy?

Lay 1 pad over the face of the blue head, fold it around the long edges and press. Hook and loop strips on the head grip the pad.
